Cluster Bombs

 

This type of bombs was used before when they were dropped by the US troops in Vietnam, where now remains some five hundred thousand tons of unexploded bombs in the Vietnamese territories, and mostly cluster bombs.
The "Israeli" enemy used cluster bombs in Lebanon in 1978, and now possesses aerial, artillery and rocket cluster shells, as it is a major producer and exporter, especially the artillery and rocket shells that contain small cluster munitions.


During the July 2006 aggression, more than 1.2 million cluster bombs were launched in the south, for an "Israeli" officer who took part in the aggression against Lebanon, revealed that launching this number of bombs is considered to be "crazy and monstrous".
The UN-sponsored demining and clearance center identified that 813 sites in southern Lebanon are considered to be contaminated with cluster bombs. It is estimated that there are some million unexploded cluster bombs in the southern Lebanese territories. These munitions are considered to be a source of grave danger to the Lebanese people, for it represents a serious impediment to the return of normal life and reconstruction efforts.
