"We will serve you with our eyes" – was the
motto raised by the Islamic Health society in
presenting the medical and health services and
provide advice and guidance especially during
the Zionist assaults in July 2006.
As a result of the pressuring health and
psychological circumstances lived by the people
migrating due to the July 2006 aggression, and
taking into account the importance and
sensitivity of this issue, the Islamic Health
Society decided to establish emergency team of
doctors, pharmacists, and nurses to conduct
tours to check on patients and provide medicines
and children vaccines for free.
The number of migration centers looked after by
the Islamic health society reached around 197
centers in Beirut, while the Lebanese benefiting
from this service were around 200,000 citizens
from different regions.
The health society worked on providing
dispensaries in many areas, and opened new ones
in some areas where refugees gathered.

Medical checkup:
The health society sought to cover all health
aspects of the people through the regular health
checkup for migrants in the places where they
are centered. The Islamic health society
facilitated some 150 medical teams consisting of
a doctor and nurse, and the number of those who
benefited from this service reached about 95,000
citizens.
Providing medications:
Taking into account the tough situation which
the migrants passed through, and due to their
lack of ability to provide medicine, especially
for severe cases, and milk for children, and
lack of availability due to the siege, the
Islamic Health society sought, through its
relations with humanitarian and domestic
organizations, to provide all the needed
medications and distribute them by health
delegates to the migration centers. The
medication samples distributed by the health
delegates reached 203,000 samples.
Vaccination campaigns:
Few days after the aggression kicked off, the
Islamic Health society launched vaccination
campaigns in the migration centers, fearing
possible outbreak. The vaccine campaign included
3029 children from 1 to 5 years old from Beirut
and some areas in Mount Lebanon. This campaign
included vaccines for measles, German measles…)

Health
Education:
In order to avoid the spread of contagious
diseases among migrants, the health society took
care of precautionary health through the
epidemic surveillance of contagious diseases,
and tackling general health and safety.
The health organization trained tens of health
volunteers to help spread the health guidelines.
It also established teams designated to survey
diseases to interfere when needed, also
distributed posters of general health
recommendations in migration centers, in
accordance to the following:
. Monitoring the health situation in the
displacement centers via a special form.
. Communicating with the American University and
the World Health Organization for general
recommendations and vaccines.
. Printing posters about personal safety and
issuing a warning over random medicine
consumption and distributing it to the
displacement centers.
. Preparing a comprehensive monitoring form, and
training the teams on epidemic surveillance from
the Ministry of Health.
. Organizing deep monitoring programs (on the
various cleaning materials, water, private and
public safety, and on the different ranks of
people).
. Preparing a medical team and a health network
in the displacement centers, and establishing a
coordination committee with social officials
(health officer for the whole center, and a
health official for the floor).
